"One thousand years." Dipper said, repeating what Luna had just said to him. He would've been fascinated by the subject of someone being on the moon for that long and would've begun chucking question after question at her until every fact was implanted into his brain, but it was clearly a very personal and unwanted subject to her. He wouldn't make her feel any worse than she already was, but his concern for her was off the charts.

"Yeah." Luna solemnly replied. Being reminded of the ridiculously long time alone up there was heavy hitting to her, but she had to talk to someone about this even with everything already building up inside her, nearing it's tipping point. She knew she couldn't keep up this good girl act for much longer.

"What was it like?" He asked. He didn't want to make this seem like a pop quiz to gain as much info as possible, but she'd already told him so much. He wanted to know just a little bit more, but the minusculest chance of her breaking and he'd zip his yap shut in an instant. But his current state of mind would quickly change in an instant if an opportunity came his way.

"Cold, dark, lonely. It's an endless list, Dipper." She answered, looking at him with down eyes. He had a look of sympathy on his face which she appreciated, but it wouldn't be enough to stop her from wailing out uncontrollably. Even the smile he gave her when he met her gaze wasn't enough to stop the inevitable.

"Are you...okay, Luna?" He slowly asked her, looking deeper and through her eyes to see what lay underneath. He was unsure if those were the right cards to play, asking her that, as she might interpritate it as cue for 'you can cry on my shoulder now', but he just wanted nothing more than to know so he could use for the better. He cared about her and that was it.

"Yeah. I just really needed to tell someone about this." She answered. That wasn't entirely true. She wanted nothing more than to let everything that she had bottled up inside her out in one fell swoop, but she couldn't do that. Not yet. Patience and time was key to her.

"You sure? You're telling me very personal things, Luna." Dipper was pushing it now, but he had to clarify everything. If she was even considering going home tonight and offing herself because she couldn't handle it anymore then he had to know. She could've chosen anyone to talk about this with, but she'd chosen him. He wanted to know why.

"Yes, Dipper, I'm fine!" She said. Anger had slightly slipped out of her emotion box which she quickly slammed shut. It then didn't take her long to realise the mistakes that'd come out her mouth. Getting angry at him clearly meant that she was not fine. Any other emotion could've been better, but it had to be anger.

"If you say so." He acknowledged. Maybe some reverse psychology would make her spill the beans. There was clearly something locked up inside her that she was keeping from him. He wanted to expel it as if she got everything out then she'd be fine. Well, he thought that at least. Even though it was true.

"Thank you." She said. Maybe she wouldn't have to spew out her emotions on him, but she desperately wanted to. She just needed the right incentive.

The two looked away from each other and up at the clear night sky after neither of them spoke for a short few moments. The white rock with it's little glowing minions scattered around it looked back down at them from the dark folds of space.

A long silence passed. Luna accepted that that incentive would never come.

Until Dipper said "It's okay to let it out."

Luna slowly looked down at him with wide eyes, tears welling up at their bases. Dipper offered a sympathetic smile, anticipating what came next...then she let it out.
